My name is Aidan Allenbuckle.

As a new father, I’m deeply invested in making sure our kids have what they need to thrive in this quickly evolving world. Every generation faces unique challenges, and for students today, that means navigating things like social media, online misinformation, and artificial intelligence. Handling these issues takes practical, evidence-based leadership. I strongly support SD 42’s commitment to being a forward-thinking, research-informed school district. To me, that means looking at the data, asking tough questions, listening to educators and experts, and taking the time needed to get decisions right. If elected as School Trustee, I will bring a calm, steady, and pragmatic voice to the board. I will work to ensure every student has the support to reach their full potential in a safe, welcoming environment, while always keeping our focus on creating lasting, positive progress for our community.

My Motivation

1

My Daughter

As a new father, I am deeply motivated to step up for our local schools. While my daughter is still a newborn, getting involved now allows me to help lay a strong, forward-thinking foundation for her and every child entering the system. I want to play an active role in shaping policies that ensure SD 42 provides an inclusive, high-quality environment for all students.

2

Public Education and Inclusivity

Quality public education is one of our most essential public goods. I strongly believe in the power of our school system, but having grown up with undiagnosed ADHD, I know firsthand where it can fall short. I am committed to improving support, accessibility, and resources so every child can thrive.

3

Community

Schools remain a core hub for shared experiences and civic connection. How students experience these formative years profoundly shapes how they view and contribute to our community in the future. I want to ensure SD 42 remains a strong bridge to our broader community and a place where every child can thrive and develop.

Why Vote Allenbuckle?

When my wife and I decided to start our family in Maple Ridge, this school district was a big deciding factor. I put my name forward for School Trustee not because I’m unhappy with SD 42, or because I’m running on a single issue; I am running because I care deeply about where our community is headed. I want to help ensure our district stays strong, modern, and well-supported for today’s kids and for generations to come.

I firmly believe every child deserves the support they need to succeed, but what that looks like varies for every student. Some kids thrive in traditional classrooms, others need targeted help, and many benefit from alternative, hands-on learning spaces. SD 42’s strategic focus on recognizing the uniqueness of each learner really hits home for me. Having gone undiagnosed with ADHD until adulthood, I know what it feels like when a system isn't quite built for the way you learn, and I know how transformative it is when accessible, adaptable supports are in place. When we design schools that meet kids where they actually are, our entire community is stronger for it.

Serving as a trustee isn't about making quick, flashy changes; it’s about good governance, accountability, and long-term vision. My career in public service has given me direct, practical experience with how large public systems operate. I know how to listen to underrepresented families, advocate effectively within government, and make responsible choices that respect taxpayers while staying within budget.

If elected, I will bring a calm, steady, and pragmatic perspective to the board table. I am committed to keeping SD 42 financially sustainable, listening closely to educators and parents, and ensuring our schools remain safe, welcoming places for every student who walks through the doors.
